Observation of Raman optical activity by heterodyne-detected polarization-resolved coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering.
We report the first observation of Raman optical activity (ROA) by coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering. Thanks to the more freedom of polarization configurations in coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering than in spontaneous Raman spectroscopy, the contrast ratio of the chiral signal to the achiral background has been improved markedly. For (-)-β-pinene, it is 2 orders of magnitude better than ...

We report polarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (P-CARS) microscopy that allows vibrational imaging with high sensitivity and spectral selectivity. The nonresonant background signals from both Raman scatterers and the solvent are efficiently suppressed in P-CARS microscopy. We demonstrate P-CARS imaging of unstained cells based on the contrast of the protein amide I band.

An imaging platform based on broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (BCARS) has been developed which provides an advantageous combination of speed, sensitivity and spectral breadth. The system utilizes a configuration of laser sources that probes the entire biologically-relevant Raman window (500 cm-1 to 3500 cm-1) with high resolution (< 10 cm-1). It strongly and efficiently stimulate...
متن کاملFast spectral coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering microscopy with high-speed tunable picosecond laser.
We develop a coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy system equipped with a tunable picosecond laser for high-speed wavelength scanning. An acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) is integrated in the laser cavity to enable wavelength scanning by varying the radio frequency waves applied to the AOTF crystal. An end mirror attached on a piezoelectric actuator and a pair of parallel p...

Electric fields of coherent Raman signals are resolved with sensitivity for high-frequency vibrational resonances utilizing a four-pulse, trapezoidal beam geometry in a diffractive optic-based interferometer. Our experiments show that the heterodyne detected signal phase is stabilized for particular terms in the third-order response function by the cancellation of inter-pulse phases. The C-H st...
